So if any of you remember my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! about my hoonage in a Saturn and its !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I found after the fact that I had not blown the motor but in fact, it was the transmission. Unfortunately, it was winter break and call me whatever names you like, but I did not really want to pull the tranny in my driveway, especially never having done it before. So finally school resumed and it was towed to my high school autoshop in which I've been a part of for 3 years.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

The process has been slow since I only get to work on it an hour or so each day, but we finally pulled it today. Decided to pull the entire strut/ hub assembly out since the only thing holding it on were the three nuts at the top of the strut tower. Then we undid the two subframe bolts on the driver side and that gave us just enough leeway to pull the trans from the top (since there was far too little room between the subframe and the exhaust/ engine.

Now I'm no expert on FWD transmissions (or any transmission for that matter), but to me that looks like something came loose from the inside of the differential and blew that bit of case out. I dunno. Any ideas?? Anyway, the new trans is ready to go in and we're going to have the new clutch and stuff tomorrow. I'm excited to get 'er back together just in time for my drive through rural PA back roads to end up at the Pagoda in Reading (As suggested by BKRM3, thanks! He supplied directions too!) with my buddy and his '01 2.5rs.

Potato cam but I was surprised that, though its pretty much as shot as it can be, that its lasted 220k, especially with all the hell I put it through.

Haha I had a feeling that's what you were getting at but I thought trans was a bit of a stretch considering I didn't say 'tranny'

I had a feeling, I mean there's pretty much no chance anything went inward like the clutch fork or something. Who knows, but I'm going to take it apart and see the damage in better detail.
